The proud Mexican tradition of corrido music provides both heartbeat and backbone to this rich examination of songs, drugs and dreams along the U.S./Mexico border.
Al Otro Lado screened at numerous film festivals worldwide including the Tribeca, Havana and Los Angeles Film Festivals. It was included in the Whitney Biennial, had a theatrical release MoMA and was braodcast on PBS.
As a producer, I frequently gave feedback on edits and problem solved with the director, helped organize shoots and production in the US as well as conducted interviews and managed crew.

Since a single still image from the film didn’t encompass the complexity of the subject matter, I decided to use icons to quickly communicate each of the main themes in the film’s marketing materials. Variations of the design were used in posters, postcards, DVD and in the motion graphics in the film.
